Traditional Japanese Tatami-beri

This item is made using Tatami-beri, the decorative fabric attached to the edges of traditional Japanese tatami mats.

In Japanese, the word “En” (縁) means not only the edge of a tatami mat, but also precious connections, good relationships, and good fortune.

I created this piece with the hope that it will bring wonderful connections and happiness to the people who use it.

Tatami-beri is one of my favorite traditional Japanese materials, and I would be delighted if people around the world could discover and enjoy its unique beauty and cultural meaning.

May your life be filled with wonderful connections and good fortune.

日本の伝統文化である「畳縁（たたみべり）」を使った作品です。

畳縁は畳の端を彩る布ですが、「縁（えん）」という言葉には、人との出会いやつながり、幸運といった素敵な意味もあります。

この作品を通じて、皆さまに素晴らしいご縁が訪れますように。

私の大好きな日本の畳縁の魅力を、世界中の方々に知っていただき、楽しんでいただければ幸いです。
